Long Term TATS Friend and professional Musician, Andy Stewart, has hinted that he may be making a surprise appearance in the Medical TV series ‘Holby City’, but he’s keeping his cards close to his chest.
So will it be Andy Stewart MD or Andy Stewart MD we wonder? – watch this space!
We were absolutely thrilled that our TATS production of Little Shop of Horrors was nominated for 2 NODA awards in the categories of Best Musical & Best Technical Production.
The Awards Ceremony was be held in Stevenage on March 8th, and whilst we did not win this time round, to be recognised and nominated still deserves many congratulations to all involved in this stunning production.
Congratulations from TATS to all NODA award winners, and especially to our friends down the road at AD HOC who won the best drama for their production of ‘Humble Boy’.
Thank you for supporting our recent production of A Vicar of Dibley Christmas
Four sell-out audiences competed with
each other to raise the largest sum in our raffle each night with the
highest night being donated to charity.
Our Saturday Night audience were the winners and the Raffle proceeds of £208 will be donated to the Trussel Trust Food Bank, in Bedford.
Thank you all for your generosity.
The directors changed but we still made a record breaking return to Dibley in November, following our first visit back in March 2017.
The latest antics of the Rev Geraldine Grainger and the other eccentric residents of Dibley took us through a madcap selection of tv highlights, from Alice’s discovery of her pregnancy, through to the birth during the Dibley Nativity, via the great storm and Radio Dibley – including Frank’s ‘coming out’ and perhaps the worst audition sessions you’ve ever seen.
We had fabulous audience feedback for this show, so well done to cast crew and especially directors Karen Pickwick and Michele Swales, who also brought us ‘Allo,’Allo’ in 2011, ‘Calendar Girls’ in 2012 and the panto ‘Knight Fever’ in 2015.

And… we hope this video captures the essence of this popular and very funny production, with thanks to Stephanie Munno for the photos.
The Farndale Avenue Housing Estate Townswomen’s Guild Dramatic Society’s Production of a Christmas Carol.
Wed 5 – Sat 8 June 2019
In June we welcomed back Pauline Adams to the TATS directing role for another of the hilarious Farndale comedies, this time appropriately, being June!, its just had to be Farndale Christmas Carol.
This was the fourth ‘Farndale’ to be performed by TATS and followed the hilarious ‘…The Haunted Through Lounge and Recessed Dining Nook at Farndale Castle’, again directed by Pauline, which went down a storm with audiences four years ago.
Pauline said, “Having been in the first 2 Farndale plays that TATS performed some years ago as Banquo {Macbeth’s son}, then as The Inspector in the second, I found them so funny and quite a challenge that years later when the opportunity came up for me to direct something, it had to be a Farndale – The Haunted through lounge and recessed nook at Farndale Castle, I enjoyed it so much I wanted to do another one….so there we are.”
“With some audience participation and a rogue PA system to contend with, this was an assault on the original Scrooge, performed by not-very-good actors. “People were treated to a night of sheer silliness, when the play took on some unexpected twist and turns.”
TATS annual showbiz quiz, now in its 7th year, took place in Turvey Village Hall on Friday 18th January 2019 and what a tense finale.
After 12 rounds including 2 music, a picture and an anagram round – 3 teams ended up within 2 points and 1st and 2nd tied. The result was decided by a tie break and won by team ‘mels marvelous minds’, seen below with their prize.
Thanks as usual to Karen & Phil Pickwick for organising a super fun evening and all TATS Committee and members who helped on the night.
The Flint Street Nativity, directed by Mel Webb, closed to another packed enthusiastic audience on 24 November.
