Play Play On

Curtain down and the audience feedback just showed how much they loved this laugh out loud show.

This brilliant backstage farce followed a group of well-meaning amateur actors trying to put on a murder mystery play — but everything that can go wrong did!  and anyone who has ever been part of a production, just cringed as they knew they’d been there, done that, but couldnt help to giggle at other’s misfortunes.

Congratulations to Nicole Macdonald, directing her first show for TATs, the fabulous cast, lighting, sound, front and back of house, all the unsung heroes behind the scenes who help put these productioons on and finally thank you to our wonderful audiences for coming to see us perform.

A packed village hall witnessed an exciting evening of quizing and socialising with the TATs annual Showbiz Quiz.

And would you believe it – what a close run thing with only 2 points (out of 159) separating the 1st 4 of 12 teams, with one of the TAT’s tables, aptly named the ‘Book of Moron’ turning out the eventual champions.

Many thanks to Phil & Karen for setting and hosting and the TATs support team for the usual plethora of jobs which are necessary to make these nights such a success.

AGM

The TATs AGM took place in Turvey Village Hall on Sunday 11th January 2026.

A large audience was present to learn about what the society had achieved over the past 12 months and what they will be offering in a busy 2026 schedule, featuring no less than 3 productions plus a quiz night and murder mystery.

Retiring long serving committee members Rosemary and Penny were widely applauded for all their hard work and inputs over the years with their places going forward being taken up by Lucy and Frazer.

Then after the formalities, opportunity was taken by members new and old to engage in a lively social with wine and cheese followed by a further opportunity to learn about TATs June show ‘Time to get ready for love’.

Set in 1970s England, this light-hearted, feel-good musical follows the tangled love lives of three very different couples — a nostalgic celebration of love, laughter and unforgettable tunes.

There are fantastic leading roles for both male and female performers, plus a great range of speaking roles and ensemble parts — perfect for anyone who loves great music and comedy!

Country Hoe Down

Sorry! POSTPONED

Unfortunately, TATS had to make the difficult decision to postpone the Hoedown which was planned on the 20th September 2025.

All ticket and pizza sales were refunded.

We are looking to re-schedule the social event for 2026. We hope that you won’t be too disappointed, and we are looking forward to the event taking place in the not-too-distant future.

A Night at the Musicals

So the show run has come to an end and WOW!

Sell out shows, standing ovations and 5 star reviews, what more can you say about A Night at the Musicals.

Over 30 TATS performers young and old(er) supported by professional band, lighting and sound crews produced an amazing show featuring 35 songs from 28 West End and Broadway shows.

The show has really showed off the talents of the TATS team and many congratulations go to them and especially Eleanor Leonard-Smith the director, whose drive, vision and boundless energy was a the heart of the production.

Congratulations also go to our two musical MD’s, Andy Stewart and Tim Dawes, our two choreographers Charlotte Pask and Leanne Thomson, Lloyd Gray from Lightning Lloyd, on lights and Mark Luckin on sound and all the many front of house and backstage teams without whose valauble help the show couldn’t have been such a success.

The ever popular TATS Showbiz quiz took place in Turvey Village Hall on 24th January.

A packed hall saw the teams battle it out for the honours, with the lead swapping between teams several times during the evening and the eventual winners only edging it by 2 points.

Congratulations to our winners, our friends from Riseley Community Theatre’, aptly disguised as the ‘Terrifically Wonderful Amazing Theatre Society’ – yes there is an acronym there somewhere – who narrowly beat last years winners ‘The Clangers’, to take the spoils, with an overall percentage of 83% answers correct.

And finally a great big thank you to all who attended and made it such a fun night, and a massive vote of thanks to all the team at TATS who work so hard behind the scenes and on the night to put these events on for them to work so seamlessly.

TATS AGM

Slightly later than billed, the TATS 2024 AGM took place on Thursday 9th January at Turvey Village Hall.

The event was very well attended, despite the rather cold weather and once formalities were out of the way a super time was had by all with wine, cheese and off course plenty of chat. Lots of discussion about what members would like to see from the society!
